In April 2008, I tossed out the antiquated web site the archive was on and moved to a WordPress blog format complete with tags, RSS feeds, content management, and more. Nifty!

As soon as I saw Forrest photographs, I wanted to make him a web site. Fortunately for me, he asked me to, and together we created a design that shows off his photographs of people and places from around the world. The design is minimalist, with an emphasis on the photos.

After many years as Storm's friend, editor, and fan organizer, I finally decided it was time I take on her web site. The previous design did not match her style and difficult to maintain. The new web site takes advantage of new technologies, such as WordPress and PHP-driven galleries and forums. The entire web site can be updated via a web interface, allowing both Storm and I to easily update it.

When author Storm Constantine put out a mention that she'd like to see her defunct fanzine Inception rise again as an e-zine, I stepped up to the plate -- I love Storm way too much to say no! This web site is a quarterly publication and has been operation since November 2001.

In 2007 I decided to move to a new design and format, moving to year-round submissions and a Word Press-driven blog design for easy updating. It's much less work for me now and users find it much easier to access past content, now that all posts are tagged with keywords and sorted by date. All posts can be commented on as well, making the site more interactive.

Inception Magazine

E-zine / fanzine inspired by sci-fi/fantasy author Storm Constantine, with Storm's encouragement and the contributions of Storm fans.

A current client referred Dakota Development to me when they needed a web site to support a real estate project in Savannah, Georgia. The group has land in the historic district as well as a design for a mixed-use development on the site. The site, designed to be simple, presents information for investors and buyers.

When Wallace Roberts & Todd, LLC, was hired to lead a project to update the City of Atlanta's Green Space Plan, city officials recommended Metro Girl as part of the team, based on past experience. Metro Girl has worked on many contract teams working on city projects.

The web site, which is designed to match project marketing and information materials, is designed to provide a public portal for project information as well as a place for the public to submit their input.

This is a web site for the building where I actually live and work. The building was first opened as a residential condo community in 2001 but it tooks five years for residents to get organized enough to want a web site. I was hired on and created a framework which was filled in by members of the condo's board, who sent me all the content I needed to launch the site.

I connected with The Center while doing a project for TSW. The Center is a unique institution which supports community preservation through collaborative planning and design and provides an environment for learning and sharing creative solutions to accommodate growth.

Through my interaction, I wound up redesigning their web site, which was very out of date.

The site design was handed over to a student intern at The Center, who filled in the content and is taking care of maintenance.

The web site is designed for the use of both residents and prospective homebuyers. Certain sections of the web site are usename/password restricted to residents.

My client Shawn Walls has been working as an independent stonemason and garden designer. He wanted a way to show off his work to prospective clients.

The site was designed using colors recommended by the client and a look and feel reflecting the nature of his work .

Later this site was taken over by another designer and while the backend was changed, much of the original design work was retained.

Mount Vernon Towers is a residential community in Sandy Springs. It's designed for active seniors who want to stay independent, but at the same time, have the convenience and safety of a retirement home.

The site was designed as a marketing tool to reach those looking for a retirement home. More and more people are using the web to find a place for themselves or their elderly parents.

Charis Circle is a group closely affiliated with Charis Books & More, a feminist bookstore located in Atlanta's Little Five Points. Charis Circle supports a variety of programs, including both special events and regular groups and activities.

The Charis Circle web site was extremely out of date and not longer served the group's needs. The new site matches the group's existing materials and presents a dynamic image.

Basile Baumann Prost & Associates, Inc., a economics and real estate development advisory firm based in Maryland, contracted me to create a small-scale project web site for an economic development plan they are working on for Oconee County, Georgia.

The site began as a framework and will be updated as the project proceeds, with public comments, pictures, reports uploaded over a period of months.

Friends of mine recently purchased some beautiful new cabins up in Ellijay, Georgia, for their own enjoyment and for rental.

This web site is designed to give people a look at the beauty and comfort of these cabins, with pictures of the interior and exterior, description of amenities. There is also, of course a reservation form.

To promote the first ever Wraeththu-theme role-playing event, organizers wanted a web site for both German audience and the general Wraeththu fan community.

Metro Girl worked with German language press releases and photographs created in association with the event, then created new content in English.

Bed and breakfast proprietor Eleanor Matthews had been doing some low-key marketing for her historic home, but she hadn't been getting the level of visitors she liked.

From friends in the industry, she learned that many bed and breakfast patrons find accommodations using online services.

Metro Girl worked with the proprietor to put together a professional web site that outshines local competitors' and matches the feel of the home.

When the president of William Halderson Associates formed a new company with two partners, the company thought well enough of the site I had previously design for them and went back to me.

Communicating via email, I set up this site using copy provided by the client and came up with the design, chose pictures, and set up the site.

My contract with CAP is for 10 hours a week and working remotely as well as in their office, I handle site maintainence, including updating news items, content pages. I also have initiated many site-wide changes and am the "go to" person for taking care of whatever other web needs they have.

After creating, maintaining and bolstering the ADNA's original web site for three years, I felt it was time to jump to the next level.

Working on my own time, I came up with an entirely new site structure and design, putting together a sophisticated web site for not only Downtown residents but those interested in Downtown living. I created the design and graphics, wrote all of the content, and intalled a community message board as well as an online photo database.

With one well-received book under its belt and a highly anticipated third book of poems from Nikky Finney, InnerLight wanted a web site that would showcase their two offering and also allow for online ordering.

Working from a skeleton of an existing site, Metro Girl gave the site a more vibrant look with more intuitive navigation and engaging content. Online ordering was achieved through PayPal; many orders have already been placed.

Created based on materials sent in by FedDex from Kentucky and some discussion by phone and email with Nikky, the site is a very informative yet personal look at Nikky and her writing, with an extensive bibliography, biography, insights from the author, and even an online guestbook. Metro Girl's design was based an existing brand image Solo Design had for its business cards and stationary. The Flash movie makes this image dynamic and the rest of the site carries it through.

This business found itself with a web site they could not maintain. My job was to take care of edits that had been waiting and bring the site up to date. While I was at it, I cleaned up the design and graphics, updated the navigation, added new content, upgraded the meta tags, and registered the site with search engines, directories, and other appropriate resources. Since the initial rehab, the client has had me on call to handle periodic content updates on an hourly fee basis.

Developed when I was part of the condo association's Communications Committee, this site incorporates material I produced for the building's residential guide, including a detailed guide to riding MARTA and a plain English version of building rules.

I designed the site to match the feel of the building and its logo and filled it with material from our residential guide and periodic newsletters.

Even though I have moved, I still work with some building residents, who update the site files themselves so I can upload them.
