Welcome
to my Wraeththu fan fiction page page. All original Wraeththu
characters, ideas and rights belong to author Storm Constantine.
Angry City
2003
Set in the wild early days of Wraeththu, this story explores the
transition of wild boys to, well, true Wraeththu who comprehend
their new natures. Big inspirations include the new Wraeththu book,
Wraiths of Will and Pleasure, Velvet Goldmine, my
fondness for German industrial group Einstürzende Neubaten,
and for dialog, my own fucking tendency to say the F word a lot. This story is currently offline because, like Breeding Discontent (see below), it's being published by Immanion Press.
The Harling Gardens Series
These stories started with an epic collaboration from Mercredi
and myself and spiralled into several sequels from each of us. Eventually
Mercredi's stories will appear on this web site as well.
Storm Constantine's Wraeththu
Mythos:
Breeding Discontent
Wendy Darling and Bridgette Parker
Storm Constantine, Editor
Immanion Press, Oct. 2003
(Was originally Breeding Discontent by "Wiebke and Mercredi")
A dark tale set in Megalithica, Breeding Discontent tells the
story of Lisia, a hostling in a secret Varrish breeding facility,
forced to make pearls - new life - on demand by the military.
The
Gelaming general, Ashmael Aldebaran, and a unit of his troops
are on duty in Megalithica, when they uncover the hidden facility,
which has been abandoned by its administrators. Only a group of
struggling survivors remain: former hostling Lisia and nearly
two hundred harlings. Read more...
Not Far From the Tree
by Mercredi
2002
Like me, Mercredi got really wrapped up in the world we created
in Breeding Discontent, so much so that she
kept on writing, putting together some sequels. Mercredi was particularly
keen on following up on some of the minor characters in the story
and seeing how things turned out for them. In Not Far From the
Tree, she focuses on harlings and a young romance.
Contentment
2002
About half-way through writing Breeding Discontent,
I got an idea for a sub-plot that could development regarding
Lisia and Cobweb and although it was somewhat explored within
the story itself, that was just the beginning. This is
the story of what happened after.
Perennials
2002
After doing Breeding Discontent and
then Contentment, I still
hadn't gotten enough of Lisia and Cobweb, so I launched into yet
another sequel. While this story is much less of a saga than either
of the other two two stories, instead telling only a very short
story, I really enjoyed it and felt it capped off the relationship
between Lisia and Cobweb quite nicely.
Moon Series
Garden of the Moon
2002
This story started out as an exploration of how becoming har might
truly change the life of a deaf person and from there blossomed
into something bigger than that and finally into an unlikely friendship/romance
story.
Moon and Son
2002
This story catches up with Moon many years later, who meets Vaysh
and sets events in motion that shake Immanion.
Obligations
2001
Set a few months after the conclusion of Bewitchments of Love
and Hate, this 18-chapter story stars, among others, Swift,
and explores themes of Wraeththu family, committment and rites of
passage. Also, there's one heck of an althaia scene.
Rescued Lives
(a growing series)
2001-2003
This story isn't about Tigrons or war, but deals more with Wraeththu
family life, particularly rites of passion, pearlbearing, Feybraiah,
and family relationships.
Revelation
2002
This idea popped into my head as I considered possible plots involving
humans and hara interacting, then my fascination with birth, and
then another long-standing fascination, which becomes evident as
you go along -- I'll let it be surprise up front, however. |
