LINKS FROM A TO Z
It's Been Done Before,
But It Sure Is Fun...
|
 |
Hey, every personal page in the world has a cool links page, so I might as well have one too, right? On the web eight hours a day five days a week and constantly not wanting to work on the site I actually work for, I come across weird and wild pages all the time -- so many I don't know what to with them all and I have to pass them on to you!
A
- Adbusters Media Foundation
A super-cool web site to go along with a super-cool magazine and a super-cool concept -- fighting back The Man with his own tools!
- Advanced Book Exchange
Looking for an out-of-print book? If so, you WILL find it here!
- @dver@active Games
Experience the wonders of Shockwave and have a blast!
- Alphagraphics (Russia)

- Dunkin Donuts
It's amazing how much this site reflects the character of this chain.
E
- Eroscan Index
The ultimate index of adult material on the Internet, everything from erotic poetry to sex toys to what some people (not me, since I find the term pejorative) would call pornography.
F
- Fabulous Ruins of Detroit
Detroit was once a grand city, capital of the auto empire, with first class
hotels, theaters, and block upon block of beautiful, upscale homes. Today
most of Detroit -- save the suburbs -- is in ruins. This site is dedicated
to the past and future Detroit and contains stunning photographs.
- Feminists for Free Expression
Finally a group of women who believe that women are smart enough and strong
enough not to need censorshop to protect them.
- Find a Grave
The guy who runs this site claims he runs all over the earth collecting soil
from the graves of famous people. I don't know about that, but this site let's
you see pictures of the graves of hundreds of famous dead people and even
get maps showing you how to find their grave in the cemetary!
G
H
- Helmut's Page of Austrian Stamps
This one is on here for two reasons: 1) This guy's name is Helmut (hey, good reason!), and 2) It's such a testament to the power of the Web.
- Hole City
Dedicated to exploration of bad TV -- and that's just about all TV!
I
- IKEA
Come lounge around in IKEA's World Wide Living Room and find out why IKEA is one of the coolest stores around. (Too bad the nearest one to Atlanta is in Virginia...)
J
K
- Krispy Kreme
The difference between the North's Dunkin Donuts and this Southern chain in amazing, particularly here in Atlanta, where we have the GIANT Krispy Kreme on Ponce.
L
- The Long Now Foundation
This is an organization dedicated to building a giant clock that measures time in years, centuries, and millenia, rather than in seconds, minutes, hours, or days. It's a fascinating concept, even if I do suspect the people behind it are rather cracked.
M
- Manischewitz
Everything you ever wanted to know about Kosher Jewish foods.
- Mark Napier's Webworks
Super-cool, wacked-out, very arty and crazy personal web site and virtual
"gallery" by a virtual friend of mine.
- Microsoft
Clip Gallery Live
I never thought I'd recommend something by Microsoft, but this is a GREAT
resource with zillions of GREAT clip art -- all for free and for public use!
- The Mobile Home Park Store
The ultimate information guide to TRAILER PARKS!
N
- National Pork Producers Council
I barely eat meat and I definitely DON'T eat pork, so this site fascinates me -- especially the Fun for Kids section!
- Nerve Magazine
The most literate, well-designed, and sexy "literate smut" magazine on the web or, probably, anywhere.
O
- The Office of King Hussein I of Jordan
He's dead, but his web site lives on! Scary!
- Online Study Bible
Want to look up something in the Bible? Well, do a search and you can look it up in a dozen different versions! (Oh, and tell the Baptists a queer sent you!)
- The Onion
Almost too popular to be on this list, this site is hoot and a must for anypone with a taste for sarcasm!
P
Q
- Queercore
The hippest group of wired young fags in the country!
R
- The Rhubarb Compendium
Do you like rhubarb enough to want to find out everything there is to know about it? If so, this is your web site.
- Roman Board Games
And you thought the only things Romans did for for fun was watch people get killed and have sex -- sometimes at the same time!
S
- Shakespeare Oxford Society
The William Shakespeare everybody talks about never existed -- he is just
a big fib!
- Sinnhofer Lederhosen
Your source for honest-to-goodness, genuine, imported Alpine lederhosen!
- Slapstick
Now I call this a great use of technology -- presenting the movies of Buster
Keaton, Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, and other silent comedians as Quicktime
videos!
T
U
- Unclaimed Baggage
I didn't think this site was real... at first. Then I realized -- Viva la E-Commerce!
- Useless Web Pages
Your source for the choicest, most totally useless and bizarre web pages on the Net. This is where I found some of the links on this very page!
V
- Virtual.Valley.com
Virtual guide to one of my favorite places -- the Pioneer Valley. Located in Western Massachusetts, the "Happy Valley" is home to Springfield, Amherst, Northampton, Belchertown, and zillions of college students. I loved it when I was there and you will love this page!
W
- Watchtower
Now you don't have to wait for Jehovah's Witnesses to come to your house or seek them out in the train station -- you can get The Word straight from the source!

- YouthPride Atlanta
Not only is this queer youth group cool, and not only am I member of it, but I'm also the group's webmaster!
Z
- Zürinfo
I admit it was hard to think of a Z link, but here you go -- a wonderful guide to Zürich, Switzerland... in German! I can read it and enjoy, so why don't you try, too?
