In 1987, Storm Constantine released her first book, 'The Enchantments of Flesh and Spirit', and introduced readers to the concept of Wraeththu, the race of hermaphrodites who arise in the wake of mankind's decline. 'Enchantments' was the first in a trilogy and was followed by 'The Bewitchments of Love and Hate' (1988) and 'The Fulfilments of Fate and Desire' (1989). Each book in the trilogy is narrated by a different character, and through them we experience everything from inception and birth, to death and beyond, as each makes his own, diverse journey towards his fate.

Those of you familiar with the Wraeththu world will be acquainted with the dangers and beauty of that world and its newly-evolved inhabitants. For those of you yet to share the pleasure, perhaps this glimpse into the domain of Wraeththu will fire your desire for more. If it does, there are a couple of ways you can still obtain the trilogy - see Bookshops for links.

NOTE: Currently the Wraeththu Companion is current only as of the original three Wraeththu books (Enchantments, Bewitchments, and Fulfilments). The Companion does not encompass anything is the new Wraeththu History series (Wraiths and two additional books), nor does it include changes made to the original books by Storm as she re-edited them for reprint by Immanion Press, with new content and appendices, and nor does it include material being developed for a Wraeththu RPG game. It is hoped that the Companion will expand over time to include these.
