Ruler: Askelan (community leaders)
Worship: The Skylording

The Natawni are found in the north of Jaddayoth, between Hadassah and Garridan. They are known as the People of the Bones because they use bones for ornament, scrying and even in the construction of their temples and dwellings. They have also developed a deadly weapon in the form of a bone needle steeped in poison purchased from the Garridan.

Although fearless and not unwarlike, the Natawni's nevertheless possess one of the more democratic societies in Jaddayoth. Whilst having no tribe overlord, each community has its own leader, the Askelan, elected from a council of ten individuals, known as the Taima.

Natawni enjoy a good relationship with Immanion, but despise the Maudrah. While they are wary (often bordering on hostile) to strangers in their lands, once satisfied that newcomers are not Maudrah spies or troublemakers, the Natawni are happy to let them come and go as they please. It is recommended to travellers wishing to explore Natawni territory that they seek an audience with the nearest Askelan to obtain written authority - which is usually granted at a nominal fee of twenty spinners.

The Natawni do not worship the Aghama, but revere a god of their own invention - the Skylording, an hermaphrodite who changes his affinity with the seasons. The warrior caste of the tribe are obliged to follow this custom, hence they may only be soume during spring and summer, ouana during the colder seasons. Breaking this code threatens to bring disaster to the tribe's fertility. The Skylording's priests, known as Skyles, are chosen for their beauty and tranquility.

Natawni wear clothes of forest colours - dark brown, green, russet and gold - plait their hair with moss and leaves and scent their skin with the essential oils of pine and cedar.

The towns found along the Hadassah border are the most receptive to strangers.

NOTE: Currently the Wraeththu Companion is current only as of the original three Wraeththu books (Enchantments, Bewitchments, and Fulfilments). The Companion does not encompass anything is the new Wraeththu History series (Wraiths and two additional books), nor does it include changes made to the original books by Storm as she re-edited them for reprint by Immanion Press, with new content and appendices, and nor does it include material being developed for a Wraeththu RPG game. It is hoped that the Companion will expand over time to include these.

All original artwork remains the property of the artist, Ruby. No image may be taken or reproduced without permission.

The names and likenesses of the Wraeththu characters are used with permission of Storm Constantine, the recognized creator and author of the Wraeththu Chronicles (The Enchantments of Flesh and Spirit, The Bewitchments of Love and Hate and The Fulfilments of Fate and Desire) and the Wraeththu Histories (The Wraiths of Will and Pleasure, The Shades of Time and Memory, and The Ghosts of Blood and Innocence.)
