At Metro Girl, we don’t have the overhead of a big web firm and thus, we don’t have the prices of those big web firms. Billing is kept fairly simple:

New Sites / Large Projects
Most new web sites are billed using a flat-rate fee, meaning Metro Girl presents the client with a price based on an estimate of the project scope (how long it will take, what resources it will require, etc.)

After a contract is signed, but prior to starting work, Metro Girl requires a 50% deposit. The remainder of the fee is to be paid at completion of the project.

Bills for new web site normally include:

Registration of web domain or multiple domains (e.g. yourcompany.com, yourcompany.net, etc.) for multiple years (5-10 years recommended).

Web site hosting, usually for next two years, renewable.

Labor for planning, design, development, and basic promotional work.

Reimbursement for costs associated with special site add-ons or media materials purchased from outside vendors (e.g. online bulletin boards, licensed clip art, photography).

Registration of web site with multiple search engines; several require paid submission, so recommended spending is $400.

All costs are outlined and explained individually in Metro Girl’s project estimates. All estimates are created on an individual basis and normally Metro consults and negotiates with client on anything beyond domain registration, hosting and labor.

Once a web site developed, payment is billed on an hourly basis; see information below under Maintenance / Small Jobs.

Payment by check is preferred method of payment. PayPal also available.

Maintenance / Small Jobs

Pricing on maintenance work is set up with two payment options:

Payment based on an hourly rate, with half-hour work minimum.

Monthly “maintenance” fee for “up to” a certain amount of work time per month (as estimated based on amount client expects to need to update).

Payment by check is preferred method of payment. PayPal also available.
