"German Grissecon" Program Announced The program for the first German Grissecon convention has been announced! Grissecon is set to be part of the the annual Feencon, July 9-10 in Bonn/Bad Godesberg, Germany. Below is the program for the two-day event, designed by Marja Kettner with the assistance of Storm Constantine: Friday, July 8, 2005Check in at hotel, set up. No programming at the convention. Saturday, July 9, 200511:00 Wendy Darling talks about the history of Wraeththu and presents the books and their ideas. English and German. 11:30 Dealer table opens. 12:00 Marja Kettner talks about her inspiration for Wraeththu and her development of the photo project. 12:30 Storm Constantine speaks about her inspirations for Wraeththu and the development of the Wraeththu Mythos. English. Moderator: Vinai Kopp (German). 13:00 Lunch, dealers hall still open. 14:00 Breaking Taboos: Androgyny and Alternative Sexuality in Fantasy and Related Themes. The general literature seems to offer more and more room for themes like alternative gender and sexuality. Which works fall under this category and which authors are involved in it? What difficulties and prejudices to author face in getting such works published? Moderator: Wendy Darling (English and German). Joining the discussion are: Storm Constantine (English), Francisco Bosh, Vinai Kopp. 15:00 The Art of Role Playing. Will modern role-playing be cannibalized, just to make a few quick Euros? Has the industry lost the founding ideas? Also, if the market is booming, is the quality of wares which are available as good as it used to be in the past? Also, a discussion of the newly published Wraeththu RPG and other new games, which belong in the D20 category. Moderator: Gabriel Strange (English with German player Nele Bübl as interpreter?) Includes models from the photo book. Several of the performers talk about their experiences transforming into “har” and how they’ve made it happen. German/English. Moderator: Marja Kettner, as a guest of the models. 18:00 Fashion show in the “Middle Ages Market Area.” The “Catwalk of Immanion,” the magical fashions of Sven Weber. 20:00 Fireworks in the park with a surprise… Sunday, July 10, 200511:00 Dealer tables will open. 12:00 Storm Constantine reads from the Wraeththu books. English. 13:00 Ways of the Wyrd. Is magic real? What’s really true? Can you learn it from a book? Participants talk about their experiences and experiments with magic and other phenomenon – and maybe offer some interesting surprises. Moderator: Storm Constantine (English), Vinai Kopp (German). 14:00 Lunch 15:00 The "Slash Phenomenon." What is the fascination with “Slash” in fiction and art? How did it get to be one of the most discussed and population genre on the Internet? Fan fiction enthusiasts can discuss this with the authors. Moderator: Wendy Darling, Nele Bübl and guests for discussion. 16:00 From Enchantment to Fulfilment. Gabriel and friends play a round of the new Wraeththu RPG; interested parties welcome. 17:00 Costume contest for all visitors and participants. Storm Constantine and a surprise guest sit on the jury. 18:00 Closing. Seven years running, Feencon invites a crowd of over 2,500 guests for a weekend of table top gaming, card games, book dealing, and Lord of the Ring fans. Well-known authors like Wolfgang Hohbein or Monika Felten appear and in 2005 there will be a big Vampire LARP, Medieval music, a costume contest and a camp in the nearby country.
