I adore thrift shops. Most of my clothes come either second-hand from friends or from thrift, antique, or vintage shops. If I had a million bucks, I'd buy up about ten shops full of old clothes, furniture, lamps, and thrift shop "doo-dads." I'd build myself a thrift palace and invite the world to come and shop! Unfortunately, I don't have a million bucks, so I'm just going to pretend. Care to play along? |

Never heard of CVS? Well, I won't say you haven't lived yet, since it's only a chain store, but in the world of chain stores, mass homogenization, runaway capitalism, CVS is a giant. Following the corporation and its stores for the past couple of years, I have grown quite attached, to the point where CVS is kind of hobby with me. Visit my CVS Pharmacy fan page to learn more about the store, see its products, and visit the company's home page. |
| During your years in college, there's this myth that professors says valuable and profound things to you on a regular basis. The truth is, most of the things they say are pretty ordinary... and sometimes (gasp!) incredibly boring. On the other hand, there are professors who say really WEIRD things. These professors brighten your day with wacko humor and antics even as they bury you in homework and go off on 45 minute tangents. Such is the nature of Dr. Best, my former Latin professor at the University of Georgia. |

I know, I know, The Thrift Shop is great, but there are a lot of other great thrift shops on the web -- real ones that sell clothes and old toys and fun stuff you can actually buy! Nosing around the web, I've found a whole bunch of thrifty links, ranging from collections of weird thrift shop lamps to pages meant for serious antique dealers.
| As a fan and aficionado of Buster Keaton for ten years, I feel it is my duty to share this supreme cinema artist with the rest of the world. There are already many web sites that provide biographies, critiques, and images of the man and his films, so instead of going over that territory, I offer an essay I wrote for a film history course. Whether you're a film historian, a Buster fan, or someone who wouldn't know Keaton from Chaplin (oh, no!), this essay makes a great read. |

It's really weird what computers can do. Take your average Hollywood icon, toss him in a few computer graphics programs, and boom! you've got a a whole gallery of weird and wacky portraits -- like these portraits of Buster Keaton.
| Having been raised by thrifty, cost-conscious parents who grew up during the Depression, I am absolutely nuts about saving money. For years as a poor student with a minimum wage part-time job, this drive kept me fiscally afloat, but even now, when a full-time web design job is making me "rich," I still follow a lot of these same principles. |

Hey, every personal page in the world has a cool links page, so I might as well have one too, right? On the web eight hours a day five days a week and constantly not wanting to work on the site I actually work for, I come across weird and wild pages all the time -- so many I don't know what to with them all and I have to pass them on to you!
